Audio Engineering Society
The Audio Engineering Society is the only professional society devoted exclusively to audio technology. The organization holds conventions throughout the world attracting nearly every manufacturer of professional audio equipment.
The Duquesne University student chapter promotes the study of audio recording and hosts programs and seminars pertaining to the field. The Duquesne chapter also keeps close contact with the AES headquarters in New York and sponsors trips to conventions whenever possible.
Kappa Kappa Psi
Professional Athletic Bands Fraternity
A student service and leadership recognition society, Kappa Kappa Psi strives to assist the Director of Bands in developing the leadership and enthusiasm that is required of the band. Their goals are (1) to provide the band with organized service activities, and (2) to give membership wholesome experiences in organization, leadership and social contacts. The honorary nature of membership is based on the premise that “it is an honor to be selected to serve” this band, its department of music, the University, and the cause of band music throughout the nation.
Mu Phi Epsilon
Professional Music Fraternity
A chapter of the National Music Organization, Mu Phi Epsilon is a coeducational Professional Music Fraternity. The group concerns itself with aiding in the many activities of the University such as providing ushers for student recitals, ensemble concerts and preparing receptions. The chapter is one of the many throughout the United States. Wherever you find a "Mu Phi", they all have the same motto: "Being a member provides recognition for true scholarship and musicianship for any member".
Music Therapy Student Association
An organization designed for Music Therapy majors, the Music Therapy Student Association (MTSA) is dedication to furthering the advancement of its members in the field professionally and socially. Throughout the year, the MTSA participates in a number of service projects, and attends both regional and national conferences around the country.
