NATURE OF WORK:
The Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership in the School of Education at Duquesne University is seeking candidates for a full-time (12-month) Associate Clinical Professor faculty position with administrative responsibilities as Director of the new M.S. in Higher Education Administration Program. We are anticipating a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment; however, we would consider a tenure-track appointment if a suitable candidate were to present him- or herself. The position will have responsibilities for teaching as well as program administration. The Higher Education Administration program at Duquesne is an open-ended design that allows students to shape their education for their own professional goals. Students earn a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Administration. This Associate Clinical Professor/Director will be instrumental in designing courses for this new fully-online program, scheduled to be offered as soon as Spring 2018.
A candidate for the position will be required to have an Ed.D. or Ph.D. in an area related to Higher Education, teaching experience in an online environment, and a minimum of five years of experience at a college or university. Responsibilities will include teaching a minimum of two courses each semester, monitoring student field work, as well as professional service to the Department, School of Education and University. Program Director responsibilities include management of budgets and day-to-day operations, participation in recruiting students as well as mentoring/advising students. The successful candidate will have a record of networking capabilities in the higher education community; as well as knowledge of and involvement in the process of program accreditation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to work within a non-traditional program/ department structure assisting students in attaining goals, demonstrate the ability to use independent judgment in decision making, and show evidence of support of the University's mission.
