Duquesne Law School looks first to the Faculty Recruitment Conference sponsored by the AALS when making entry-level faculty appointments. All qualified candidates attending the 2017 Conference will be considered by the Faculty Recruiting Committee; however, candidates may indicate interest in the position by submitting their FAR and other documents through Interfolio. We especially encourage applications from racial minorities, women, and others who would enrich the diversity of our academic community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum requirements include a J.D. degree and admission to the practice of law. Applicants should have superior academic credentials, previous teaching experience, and a record, or the promise, of excellence in teaching and legal scholarship. Prior teaching and scholarship in the area for which the appointment is sought is preferred, and experience teaching hybrid courses (flipped classrooms, etc.) is advantageous. Entry-level applicants may demonstrate scholarly promise by publications in scholarly journals or by scholarly works in progress.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Catholic in its mission and ecumenical in spirit, Duquesne University values equality of opportunity as an educational institution and as an employer. We aspire to attract and sustain a diverse faculty that reflects contemporary society, serves our academic goals and enriches our campus community. We particularly encourage applications from members of underrepresented groups and support dual-career couples through our charter membership in this region's HERC (http://www.hercjobs.org/oh-western-pa-wv/).

We invite applicants for this position to learn more about our university and its Spiritan heritage by visiting http://www.duq.edu/about/mission-and-identity/mission-statement. Those invited to campus for an interview may be asked about ways in which they see their talents contributing to the continued growth of our community and furthering its mission.

Duquesne University uses Interfolio to collect all Division of Academic Affairs faculty and administrative job applications electronically. The application should consist of a detailed letter of interest, a complete current curriculum vitae, and contact information of three references. References will not be contacted until the final stages of the selection process. Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
