The Best of Both Worlds
Our students continually rave about our beautiful campus and its proximity to downtown Pittsburgh. At Duquesne, you get the best of both worlds. While making your way down Academic Walk to get to class, you'll enjoy our beautiful, safe, serene campus with lots of green spaces and a distinctive view of the city skyline. Just beyond campus, you can take a short walk or bus ride to explore all the city has to offer.
A Serene, Safe, Lively Campus
At the heart of campus, The Duquesne Union offers a place to hang out, get a caffeine boost at Starbucks, visit the Computer Store or get your student ID card. The Union houses student services, lounges and entertainment, meeting rooms and administrative offices.
The Power Center offers state-of-the-art fitness facilities, a ballroom and conference spaces, and houses the Barnes and Noble Bookstore and Cafe.
Sports events and concerts are often held at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse, which serves as the home for both men's and women's basketball as well as volleyball. For more information, check out the campus map and directions, and get information about parking. Prospective students and families can visit the Admissions Office on the first floor of the Administration Building.
Step into the City
Just a few short blocks into the city and you'll be emmersed in Pittsburgh's cultural district, where Broadway and local plays, musicals, concerts, comedy shows and the ballet await. Prefer to shop or dine out? There are plenty of stores and restaurants downtown, in the cultural district and in nearby neighborhoods, like the SouthSide Works or Station Square.
Hop on the bus to venture farther into any of Pittsburgh's thriving neighborhoods. Enjoy a fun variety of culture, food, people activities and all our great city has to share.
