Lab Software Information


Computing and Technology Services (CTS) develops and tests the core software image installed on every public and department-operated computer lab. The core lab software suite includes:

  • Adobe Reader DC
  • EndNote
  • Google Chrome
  • Internet Explorer
  • Microsoft Office
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • SPSS Statistics.

Requesting software

Each instructor is responsible for testing the reliability and compatibility of their own software on the computers in a lab. You will receive a call from CTS to schedule a test of your software in the facility you have indicated. If you do not receive a call within five weeks prior to the start of the semester, please contact the CTS Help Desk at 412.396.4357 (HELP) or

CTS will complete software installations based on a first received, first completed basis. The table below outlines the time between requests, testing and installation.
