Physics Teacher Program

Advance your teaching career with a Physics teaching certification. 

The 4+1 model. Candidates enter the program by applying to the physics degree and follow the standard physics course sequence for the BA or BS program. In the summer after the junior year, candidates are admitted into the school of education. During year four, candidates complete the requirements for the physics bachelor's degree and the first year of the master's degree concurrently. In year five candidates take exclusively graduate courses and deliver student teaching. Candidates receive a physics degree at the end of year four and the master's degree at the end of year five.

The BA/BS Physics + MAT Secondary Education program combines a bachelor degree in physics with a master's degree in education in the span of five years.

The BSED program provides a bachelor’s degree in education with a second major in physics.

The BSED in secondary science + BA in Physics program provides two undergraduate degrees in nine semesters, with an accelerated track to graduate in eight semesters.
