Bio

Kevin graduated from the University of Virginia, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1982. Following completion of his undergraduate degree, Kevin attended the University of Richmond School of Law. In 1985, he graduated from the University of Richmond, with high honors and ranked 3rd in a class of 139. Kevin was also a member of the University of Richmond law review. For two years following his graduation from law school, Kevin served as a law clerk to a Federal District Court Judge in Charleston, West Virginia. During his clerkship, Kevin was exposed to a wide range of litigation.

Kevin worked at Berkman Ruslander (recently merged into Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney) as a corporate associate and then Doepken Keevican & Weiss. Kevin worked in the corporate department at Doepken, first as an associate and then as an equity partner. Kevin's major areas of practice included mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and general corporate law.

Kevin left Doepken in August of 2002 in order to join Carmeuse North America effective September 3, 2002 as Vice President, General Counsel. He has been involved in key corporate initiatives such as: the 2008 acquisition of Oglebay Norton Company; the 2012 divestiture of the industrial sands business; multiple acquisitions and joint ventures both in North America and South America, financing transactions; environmental and safety improvement projects; the acquisition of real estate and reserves; the sale of non-performing assets; negotiation and restructuring of long-term supply and sales agreements; the oversight of litigation; and the negotiation of cost effective settlements. As a member of the leadership team, Kevin participates in major decisions relating to the goals and strategy of Carmeuse North America.

Kevin served on the Board of Directors of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Cancer Society for many years. He also served on the Board of the local chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and was President of the local chapter for about two years.

Kevin and his wife, Ellen, have two children, Ryan and Cassie. Kevin and his family reside in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania.
