  • Music Theory Express - 1:00-1:55pm | room 209

    Fast-track your learning of essential musicianship skills (notation, scales, intervals, and chords). Basic rhythm skills and meter studies, and basic sight-singing and solfege skills are developed in the course. Intended for musically inclined adults with little to no prior theory training. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to interpret all aspects of musical notation, understand and utilize in practice basic concepts of harmony, and audiate simple scores at sight.

  • Sound Recording & Music Production Basics - 1:00-2:25pm | room 218

    Work hands-on with cutting edge audio hardware and software in our music production lab. Learn how to use microphones, preamps, and digital interfaces to capture recordings in ProTools, Logic, Garageband and more. Explore the realm of producing music while diving into topics such as sound for film, mixing and mastering, using plug-ins to shape sound, adding virtual instruments to a mix, and much more.

2018-19 Ensemble Calendar

  • Classical Guitar Ensemble - 12:00-12:55pm | room 107
    Registration: $425.00

    Enjoy making music with other guitarists under the direction of an ensemble coach. This ensemble class focuses on technique and repertoire of various Classical Guitar styles and genres.  Participants are encouraged to work with their coach to select music that interests them. Collaborate with others in weekly rehearsals and work toward a formal performance at the end of each semester (December 15, 2018 and May 18, 2019).  Participants must have their own guitar to participate in this ensemble.
    *This ensemble class meets 30 times for 55 minutes in conjunction with the City Music Center academic calendar (September 8, 2018 - May 18, 2019)
