Internships

FORE 450 Internship  1 - 6 cr.

The Forensic Science and Law Internship provides the student with a professional work experience in an organizational environment. The internship is an extension of the curriculum and provides meaningful experience related to the student's area of concentration. The internship responsibilities must be approved in advance by a program coordinator. The student is supervised within the work setting and also by the Forensic Science and Law Program. Prerequisite: Student must have earned 60 credits.

FORE 500. Internship  0 cr.

The Forensic Science and Law Internship provides the student with a professional work experience in an organizational environment. The internship is an extension of the curriculum and provides meaningful experience related to the student’s area of concentration. The internship responsibilities must be approved in advance by a program coordinator. The student is supervised within the work setting and also by a faculty sponsor from the Forensic Science and Law Program. Pass/Fail. Prerequisite: Student must have earned 90 credits.

Center For Career Development

The Duquesne University Center for Career Development plays a key role in providing essential support to the Forensic Science and Law program. Internships have been performed in the past and are available to students at the following sites: Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office, Allegheny County Mobile Crime Unit, Allegheny County Forensic Laboratory Division, Cybergenetics, RJ Lee Group, Erie County Department of Health Medical Examiner’s Office, SciTech Initiative at the Carnegie Science Center, Allegheny County Public Defenders Office, Brook’s Army Medical Hospital in San Antonio, TX, University Of Pittsburgh Medical Centers Clinical Genomics Facility, National Audubon Society, Bexar County Criminal Investigations Laboratory in San Antonio, TX, and the Law Firm of Bartel, Rudolf, and Associates.
