Duquesne University Office of Government Relations, as part of the Office for Community Engagement, works with Congress and federal agency officials to advance Duquesne's academic and legislative agenda by facilitating positive relationships with government officials and their staffs, advocating on behalf of the University, and educating them on issues that are important to Duquesne.

Advocate for Student Financial Aid

Duquesne University's Office of Government Relations, in conjunction with the Office of Financial Aid, monitors decisions made by Congress and the Pennsylvania General Assembly to advocate on our students' behalf. Thousands of Duquesne students benefit from financial aid programs such as Pell Grants, Federal Work Study, and PHEAA Grants. We will continue to work hard on your behalf to help legislators understand the importance of federal and state student financial aid programs but it's important that your voice be heard as well.

AICUP Student Advocacy Day - Each year for students go to Harrisburg to advocate for legislative support for private institutions of higher education. If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please contact Alexandra Kozak at kozaka1@duq.edu.

AICUP Student Aid Council - In 2017, AICUP established the Student Aid Council so that member institutions would have appointees representing their colleges and universities on the council to help to develop ongoing advocacy for student aid in both Harrisburg and on campus. If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please contact Alexandra Kozak at kozaka1@duq.edu.

Voting Registration Process: To vote in Pennsylvania, you must first register to vote at least 30 days before the election. You can register to vote online, by mail, or at a number of government agencies, including Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Photo License and Driver's License Centers.
