Best of the Bluff: Sextet in the City will be held Sunday, Sept. 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the School of Music's PNC Recital Hall. Artistic director and School of Music Dean David Allen Wehr will chat with violist David Harding during the pre-concert discussion at 2:30 p.m.
Brahms' two String Sextets, Poulenc's Sextet for Piano and Winds and French composer Maurice Ravel's Introduction and Allegro will be performed. Brahms' works were previously presented by the School of Music during the Brahms on the Bluff series from 2005 to 2008.
The Best of the Bluff series features favorite musical works from previous years' series as voted on last year by Bluff Series audience members.
Music school faculty, many of whom are members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO), will continue to be at the center of the series' artistic corps. Best of the Bluff also will feature other PSO members and international guest artists.
