Duquesne Honors Local Marine With 5K Race/Walk

Duquesne University will celebrate the life and military service of the late Sgt. Ryan Lane when it hosts A Run for Ryan 5K race/walk.

Lane, a U.S. marine, was killed in action in Afghanistan in July 2009 during his second tour of duty. Proceeds from the 5K will benefit a scholarship fund for military education programs in Duquesne’s School of Leadership and Professional Advancement. More than $8,000 was raised during last year’s Run for Ryan.

The entry fee for the 5K is $20. Participants can register at the event.

When: Saturday, April 2, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

**Race/Walk begins at 10:15 a.m.

Where: Brottier Commons, Duquesne University, 600 Forbes Ave.
