Duquesne Jazz Ensemble, Voices of Spirit Pay Homage to Henry Mancini
The Mary Pappert School of Music will pay homage to one-time Aliquippa resident and famed composer Henry Mancini at a special concert event.
A Tribute to Henry Mancini will feature the Jazz Ensemble with director Mike Tomaro and the Voices of Spirit choral ensemble with conductor Craig Cannon.
Mancini, who also was a conductor and arranger, is best known for his film and television scores, including themes from The Pink Panther films, the score to Breakfast at Tiffany's-including the well-known Moon River-and the Peter Gunn TV series.
In addition to the above-mentioned numbers, A Tribute to Henry Mancini will also feature performances of Baby Elephant Walk, Days of Wine and Roses, Dear Heart and many more.
Mancini's works earned him four Academy Awards, a Golden Globe and 10 Grammy Awards.
When: Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m.
