Free Asthma Camp for Kids at DU: Last of Summer Series Slated Aug. 7
A free camp for children ages 5 to 17 years old and their parents/caregivers will focus on staying healthy while dealing with asthma. The camp includes basketball skills with Duquesne University athlete volunteers, asthma education, health screenings and lunch.
Each camper must have an adult chaperone.
Adults also receive free health screenings and education.
The camps, based upon research that showed an alarming number of Pittsburgh children had undiagnosed or poorly controlled asthma, are funded by Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Universal Research Enhancement (CURE) program.
This is the last camp for this summer; after the Aug. 7 session, asthma camps will resume next spring.
When: Saturday, Aug. 7, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: A.J. Palumbo Center, Duquesne University
