Washington County Native Endows Scholarship at Duquesne University
Duquesne University has announced the new Robena J. and Walter W. Comer Endowed Scholarship.
Established through a $50,000 gift by Walter Comer in honor of his late wife, the former Robena J. Peterson, the scholarship will be awarded annually to eligible undergraduate students based on financial need. A preference will be given to applicants from the Comers’ native Washington County.
Robena Comer, 85, passed away on June 18, 2010, in Naples, Fla. Walter Comer is a 1949 graduate of Duquesne’s Donahue•Palumbo School of Business.
