Climate Change Conference Summary
Our conference on Climate Change was a great success. It was the inaugural event in our new annual Presidential Conference Series on the Integrity of Creation (celebrating the mission of Duquesne University). There were approximately 200 attendees at the presentations throughout the conference.
Four plenary presentations set the pace for each part of the conference. Apart from the opening public lecture, each plenary session was followed by a session dedicated to concurrent papers; then there was a session for discussion among the 22 Stakeholder Tables representing a variety of constituencies who contributed in a dynamic manner to the issues identified. At the various receptions there was lively discussion about the challenges and opportunities raised by the presenters.
Also, Posters were on display throughout the event. The concurrent papers and the posters were selected from an international Call for Papers and Posters.
There was live streaming of all the presentation of papers (these can be viewed by clicking on "Live Conference Presentations"); and podcasts of the concurrent papers are available. The impact of the conference was evident in the large number of praiseworthy comments about its timeliness and the extensive resolve to engage practical steps to address the problem.
