To graduate, a student:

  • needs a minimum of 122 credit hours.
  • must have at least a 2.0 overall QPA and major QPA.
  • must have a C or better in CHEM121, CHEM121L, BIOL111 or 115, BIOL112 or 117 and BIOL212.

  • Undergraduate Research (398/399 for a total of 6 credits)
  • Biology research forum (BIOL 394 -with permission, requires prior 398 or 399 credits)
  • Honors Research/Thesis (BIOL415- with permission)
  • BIOL 508 (Elements of Biotechnology)
  • Biology Seminar (BIOL 490) and Biotechnology Product Development (BIOL 509) may NOT be taken for elective credit.
  • Approved courses from Chemistry include (may not be used to fulfill a concentration):
    Biochemistry I (CHEM 401),Biochemistry II (CHEM 402), Bioanalytical Chemistry (CHEM 510), others possible, including some (CHEM 598) Special Topics Courses.
  • Approved courses from ENVI include (may not be used to fulfill a concentration):
    ENVI 551 Principals of Environmental Science (for upper classmen with permission)
    ENVI 670 Environmental Toxicology (for upper classmen with permission). Note: a prerequisite of Mammalian Physiology (BIOL315) or Comparative Physiology (BIOL316) is required to receive elective credit for ENVI 670.
