DU Card Policies

Damaged Cards:
Students who have a *damaged DU Card should go directly to the DU Card Center. A new card must be issued. A replacement fee will be incurred. The first damaged card will incur a $5.00 replacement fee, the second damaged card will incur a $10.00 replacement fee, and any additional damaged cards will incur a $20.00 replacement fee. If a damaged card is "hung up" in a machine, you will be responsible for the repair costs of the equipment and if there was virtual cash on the card it will not be restored on your new card. Therefore, it is very important that you replace any damaged cards. There will be no exceptions.

*Damaged cards could include but are not limited to the following: hole punched, cracked, bent, mutilated, scratched, broken or defaced in any way.
*Damaged cards will be confiscated.

Replacement:
Any student who needs to receive a replacement DU Card should go directly to the DU Card Center or visit our online card office at http://www.onlinecardoffice.com/duquesne. Lost or stolen DU Card replacements will incur a $20 fee. This fee can be paid by cash, check or billing your student account. This fee is non-refundable regardless if the old card is found. New DU Cards are not distributed every year for commuters or employees. Therefore, please maintain your card for your academic career.

Temporary Cards:
The DU Card Center will issue temporary cards on a once per month basis when students forget their cards or believe that the misplaced card can be found. Temporary cards are valid for three days only and cost nothing. Per Dining Services, students who have been issued a temporary card can only use their meal plan in the Rev. Sean Hogan Student Dining Center, located on the second floor of the Towers Living Learning Center. When the DU Card Center is closed, Public Safety is authorized to issue temporary cards.
