About the DU Card
Why do I
need a DU Card?
- Your DU Card is needed for the following purposes:
- Student Identification
- Library Access
- Meal Plan
- Virtual Cash
- Computer Lab Access
- ATM Card - when linked to a PNC Account
- Building Access
What is
Virtual Cash?
- Virtual cash is virtual money that can be placed on your DU Card.
Virtual Cash can be loaded onto your card at any one of the Cash Value
Centers (CVC's) across campus. Virtual cash can be used for the following
services on campus:
- Vending Machines
- Copy Machines
- Dining Facilities - locations where accepted
- Forbes Avenue Parking Garage
- Microfiche Machine
- Chemistry Department
Virtual Cash is non refundable
- If you are trying
to use your virtual cash for any of the features listed above, and you
receive an Invalid or Retry message you must bring your card to the
DU Card Center to be tested and reset.
Where
can I add Virtual Cash to my DU Card?
- There are five Cash Value Centers (CVC's) on campus. Locations include:
Gumberg Library, Towers Living/Learning Center, Law Library, Rockwell
Hall and Duquesne Union.
How can I link
my card to a PNC Account, or open a DU account?
- If you already have a PNC account, simply call 1-888-762-3853 to have
your DU Card linked to your account. To open a DU Account you can stop
by the Banking Center located on the second floor of the Duquesne Union,
call 1-888-762-3853, or visit www.pncbank.com.
With an account linked to your DU Card, you can make purchases on or
off campus anywhere MAC is accepted.
What should
I do if I lost or damaged my DU Card?
- If a student loses their DU Card they must notify the DU Card Center
immediately. Any student who needs to replace a lost or stolen card
will be assessed a $20.00 replacement fee. The fee can be paid by cash,
check, or billing your student account. However, if there is a chance
that your card can be found, the DU Card Center will issue a temporary
card that is valid for three days (each student is only permitted to
have one temporary card a month, and can only eat in the Rev. Sean Hogan
Student Dining Center).
- If a student damages their DU Card they must notify the DU Card Center
immediately. Any student who needs to replace a damaged card will be
assessed a fee ranging from $5.00 to $20.00. The damaged card fee can
only be paid by cash or check.
- Damaged cards will be confiscated.
What are
the hours of operation of the DU Card Center?
- The DU Card Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. Extended hours are available during peak periods in the academic
year. To inquire about extended hours please feel free to call us at
