The Duquesne University School of Education Community Forum
About the Duquesne Education Community Forum
In October of 2013, Duquesne University and the School of Education-in partnership with Pittsburgh's education, business, foundation, media, and governmental institutions-came together to discuss social justice in public education and what 21st century education should look like for our youth.
We continued our dialogue on March 12, 2014 at the second community forum, where we again looked at real-life social justice issues that impact youth and problem-solved as a community at-large to make our engagement more action-oriented.
Our third forum on October 15, 2014, Helping Public Education Fulfill Its Promise for All Children in the Pittsburgh Region: Tying the Dialogue to Action, will focus on crafting next steps for taking collective community action.
The goal of past and future forums is to engage in an honest, collegial information sharing discussion in a small group format, to gain a more accurate understanding of the work presently occurring in our region that affects the education of our children.
We are committed to being a place where our region's leaders can engage in meaningful discourse and problem-solving in an environment that champions equity and social justice for all.
Please follow us on Twitter and join us in our conversations as we continue to discuss education in Pittsburgh. We look forward to future forums as we work towards a successful future for our children.
