The Master of Science in Biotechnology
A Solid Foundation for Success
The Master of Science in Biotechnology is designed to provide advanced graduate training in the natural sciences, while enabling students to consider other career options for their scientific knowledge through coursework in business, ethics, and leadership. Duquesne biotechnology students learn not just science, but also how to participate and lead technical development teams and how to use their background in the diverse career opportunities found within biomedicine.
The MS in Biotechnology is a 30-credit graduate program which can be completed in 2 years or less even as a part-time student or faster as a full-time enrollee. It is designed to meet the needs of the working student with many of the courses in the evening or on-line.
Our program is closely aligned with the Duquesne Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical and Health Professions Program to give students interested in medical and health careers an opportunity to fulfill the requirements for a Post-Baccalaureate certificate while earning their MS. The program also has a 4+1 option for undergraduate students who desire to start early with additional training and will guarantee a place for applicants upon successful completion of their BA or BS degree.
