Green for Years, Duquesne Switches to Pennsylvania Wind Power
The first university in the state to be recognized with a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Energy Star Award, Duquesne has taken one more step toward sustainability. Pennsylvania wind farms now supply all supplemental power to the campus.
University Archivist Explores Bizarre Philadelphia Tales
The fifth book written by Tom White, an adjunct lecturer in history, the Forgotten Tales of Philadelphia includes accounts of body snatchers, a 12-foot bull shark found in the Delaware River, witch trials, ghost catching and a snake-wielding lunatic.

Enhanced Aid Available to New Education Freshmen and Graduate Students
Duquesne is offering 50 percent tuition and fee scholarships for freshmen entering the Leading Teacher preparation program in fall 2012. New graduate students can save up to 25 percent on tuition and fees for select programs.

Sports Shorts
Women's Basketball
After defeating West Virginia for their seventh straight win, the Dukes traveled to Florida for the Gator Holiday Classic. The Dukes return to the Palumbo Center on Jan. 11 vs. Xavier.
Men's Basketball
The men return to action on Jan. 4 vs. St. Joseph's and Jan. 7 vs. St. Bonaventure. Both games will be played at the A.J. Palumbo Center.
Football
Junior safety Serge Kona has been named an AP All-American, only the second underclassman in school history to earn the honor.
Swimming
Seven women have signed National Letters of Intent to join Duquesne's team in the fall.
