Duquesne’s 17th endowed chair is named for a former Spiritan superior general and will be held by an African Spiritan scholar.

Ten female and minority science students receive scholarships, mentoring and internships.
Students Examine Chinese Health Care System
A group of 22 students from the Health Sciences, Pharmacy and Nursing schools recently returned from a three-week study trip.
Business Faculty Members Honored
Donahue Chair Tom Nist was the only academic named to a list of the 25 most influential figures in cash management trends, while Entrepreneurial Studies Director Ron Morris received the Ernst & Young 2011 Entrepreneur of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award.
Department Names Award for University President
The Philosophy Department’s Charles J. Dougherty Award will recognize a graduate student who excels in classroom instruction.
State Continues Support for Academic Excellence Program
An $85,000 grant will extend one-on-one support for Duquesne Law students.
Career Services Recognized for Innovative Career Planning Programming
The Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers honored Duquesne with the Award for Innovation.

Rhinoceros: July 14-16 & 21-23
The summer company performs a fresh and funny take on the classic absurdist play in which the inhabitants of a small, French town slowly turn into rhinoceroses while one man stands alone. All shows will be performed in Peter Mills Theater Rockwell.
"UtopiaS" Art Exhibition: July 20-22
Digitally generated still images and animation created by artists, ages 10 - 18, with the help of volunteer teachers and the University's high-tech resources will be on display in the lower lobby of College Hall from 11 a.m.–4 p.m.

Admissions Fall Open House: Sunday, September 18

The next Leadership Breakfast Series, which examines the leader’s role in fostering work that is excellent, ethical, engaging and empathetic, will be held on July 19. SLPA also hosts campus-based and online information sessions for adults seeking to complete their bachelor’s or master’s degrees.

Women’s Basketball Star Receives A-10 Postgraduate Scholarship
Samantha Pollino received $5,000 toward her graduate education, based on a combination of academic performance, athletic skill and involvement in extra-curricular activities
Alex Federinko Named Academic All-American
Track and field star and Business School valedictorian, Federinko has been named to the 2010-11 CoSIDA Academic All-District II Team and is now on the national ballot.
Szecsi Leads Hungary to Tournament Success
Dukes' guard/forward Orsi Szecsi played for the Hungarian National Team this summer in the EuroBasket Basket Additional Qualifying Tournament.
Rowers Head to Summer Camps
Rachel Thornton attended the Under-23 Lightweight National Team Camp in Connecticut while Michelle Karkos participated in the U.S. Rowing Freshman Camp at Cornell University.
