Community Engagement / Service
There are many opportunities within Spiritan Campus Ministry for students, faculty and staff to reach out to the local community and to the marginalized and disadvantaged around the country and the world.
Many Duquesne students reach out to others through Spiritan Campus Ministry. We also take time to learn more about ourselves and our roles as spiritual beings. Learn more about the program that interests you.

Resources
Catholic Campaign For Human Development
- Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) supports local groups as they create jobs, improve neighborhoods, train adults for employment at a living wage, keep schools safe – all to help people find a way out of poverty for a lifetime.
Catholic Relief Services
- Catholic Relief Services (CRS) assists the poor and disadvantaged outside the U.S. through discussion, reflection, and sponsorship of CRS programs.
Consistent Ethic of Life
- Consistent Ethic of Life is a philosophy formulated by Cardinal Joseph Bernardin and has found its way into many outreach opportunities, primarily with Holy Family Institute, a residential and educational facility for children that have been removed from their homes.
Catholic Social Justice
- Encouraged by our Spiritan tradition that is dedicated to the ministry of the marginalized and liberation from the chains that bind, Spiritan Campus Ministry promotes the Spiritan idea of Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) in our engagement with the local and global community. Rooted firmly in Catholic social teaching and inspired by our Spiritan charism, our vision for community engagement is not to be seen as separate from our liturgical life.
