Resources on Teaching

The resources listed here include a wide variety of topics related to teaching and learning.  All resources (except for books) are available online.

Books 

CTE has a special collection of books on teaching, learning and higher education, searchable through the DUCAT catalogue.

Many titles are also available for purchase from the Duquesne Barnes & Noble book store.  These select books are located on the “CTE recommended” shelves.

Many chapters from Tools for Teaching (Barbara Gross Davis, Jossey-Bass, 1993) are available online.   The 2nd edition is available for loan from CTE.

The NTLF is a bimonthly newsletter available online through Gumberg Library.

Idea Papers and POD-IDEA Center Notes

The Idea Center posts brief articles in their “knowledge base” section on a variety of topics including instructional improvement and learning.   

Occasional Papers (University of Michigan) 

The University of Michigan Center for Research on Learning and Teaching posts papers with practical suggestions.
