Calendar - Using Your Account

  1. Download the MeetingMaker client

using these links. Duquesne currently supports version 8.5.3 of MeetingMaker. This is not necessarily the most current version, so please use the following links to make sure you get the right download:

  2. Install the client:

    1. You will need to Unzip the file with an application like WinZip (Windows XP has the function already). Double-click the Setup file in the unzipped folder to begin the install (Double-click Launch Installer for Mac).
    2. Use all the default options. Note that if you do not use a Palm Pilot, you may ignore errors that mention "Palm" or "Conduits". If you do use a Palm Pilot, make sure to put a check in the appropriate Conduits you will use (mainly Date Book as this is the calendar).
    3. In most cases, there is no need to restart your computer. You may now launch MeetingMaker. The installer usually leaves a shortcut on your desktop.
  3. Configure the client:
The first time you use a new installation of MeetingMaker you must follow these simple steps.

    1. Launch the program. On the login screen, you will see a "select" button.
    2. Use the "select" button next to Server to bring up the Select Server dialog box. Under Server, hit "configure", and select TCP in the top left pop-up menu. In the large box, type "meetingmaker.duq.edu" (omit the quotes!). Hit "OK". "Duquesne" should now show up in the list of servers. Highlight this choice and hit Select. This should return you to the login screen showing the selected server.
    3. Back at the login screen, type in your username. (You will only have a username if you have already  requested an account.) Your MeetingMaker username is the same as your DU email username--that's everything before the "@" in your email address. For example if your DU email address is smithp@duq.edu, your MeetingMaker username is smithp.
    4. Type in your password. Your initial password will be the first letter of your first name, the first letter of your last name, the @ symbol, and the last 4 digits of your SS#; for instance if your name is Patricia Smith, your initial password would be ps@1234.
    5. Hit the "Sign In" button. After a moment, your calendar should show up. Note that you must have a working Internet connection for this to succeed.
    6. Change your password to something other than the initial password. From the "Edit" menu, choose "Preferences". Under the "Login" tab is a place to change your password.
