The Science and Criminal Law of End-of-Life Decisions
Friday, March 11, 2011
As our region's population continues to age and medical advances permit longer lives than were previously possible, questions about how and when to end life abound. From the execution of living wills and advance directives in hospitals and nursing homes to the use of pain relief medications for the terminally ill, the issue raises multiple legal, ethical and scientific concerns. Join Dr. Henk ten Have, professor and director of the Center for Healthcare Ethics at Duquesne University, Family Hospice Education Coordinator Lillian Sweeney, and other clinical and legal experts for this provocative seminar. Additional speakers to be announced
Please visit the Forensic Fridays web page for more information.
*As always, all members of the Duquesne community - students, faculty, and staff - may register free of charge.
