CLE Reminder: The Role of Legal Nurse Consultants and Nurse Experts in Forensic Investigation and Legal Proceedings

The Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law is pleased to present Forensic Fridays...

Friday, April 20
1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
505/506 Rockwell, Duquesne University

Among the many crucial ways in which nurses interface with the justice system is as legal nurse consultants, who work with or at law firms to help attorneys assess the viability of cases ranging from medical malpractice to personal injury. In addition, a wide variety of nurses are frequently called upon to offer their expertise in court. Please join Duquesne University Associate Professor of Nursing L. Kathleen Sekula, medical malpractice attorney Andrew Kimball, criminal defense attorney Robert Del Greco, legal nurse consultant Kathy Carney, and nurse expert Debra Shane to learn more about the professional interaction between nurses and attorneys.

This course is approved by the Pennsylvania CLE Board for three (3) hours of Substantive credit. Continuing education credits for nurses are also anticipated. Please check with the Institute for more information.

For more information or to register or, visit the Wecht Institute at www.duq.edu/forensics or contact us at 412-396-1330 or wechtinstitute@duq.edu.
