Research Interests
Reading is Seeing (imagery and comprehension) collecting data in Reading Tutorial Lab from fourth through seventh graders.
Collaboration with Dr. Roy Taylor, Carnegie Mellon University for Project Listen (a tool to help elementary school students that involves computer listening and speaking devices to help students to learn how to read and to pronounce words correctly). Reading Specialist candidates are given the opportunity to observe and reflect on the effectiveness of e-learning for struggling readers.
PNC “Grow Up Great” Grant. The purpose of this study is to research literacy for pre-school-kindergarten students who are schooled in an urban setting.
Heritage House Foundation 4 Kids Program. Braddock, Pa. Literacy Coach consultant to early childhood literacy coaches, tracking teacher responses and children’s progress.
