Three Options: Online, On Campus, or a Combination

Students enrolled in the Master of Science in Educational Studies Program can choose from and combine the following options to tailor their schedule, choose their course venues and individualize their areas of study. These three options provide unparalleled opportunities for pursuing a master’s degree while balancing the demands of a personal and professional life:

Option One—The Distance Education / Online Option

Students can complete their degree entirely at distance. The resources required to complete the program—both human and informational—are available on demand 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from anywhere in the world. These online learning environments, designed and maintained by the Center for Advancing the Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) are secure, cutting edge, interactive and highly personalized. Completing the program using the distance education option maximizes a candidate's ability to accommodate family and work schedules.

Option Two—Duquesne Campus Option

Students can enjoy traditional on campus courses in the evenings during the fall and spring semesters, and during the day over the summer on Duquesne’s beautiful, modern campus.

Option Three—Combine Online Courses and Traditional On Campus Work

Students can combine distance education with traditional campus classes to fit their busy lifestyles. Many students—especially practicing teachers—prefer to earn credits online during the school year (fall and spring semesters) and come to our beautiful campus for coursework in the summer. Many of our summer courses offer unique schedules that allow students to pursue their studies while still enjoying the fun of the summer months.
