2.) Complete the Summer Financial Aid Application
Applying for Summer Financial Aid
All summer financial aid is awarded based on the previous academic year’s FAFSA application. For example, for summer 2012 semester we will use the 2011-2012 FAFSA application.
NOTE: The summer semester is billed at a per-credit basis and treated as a separate billing and loan period. Therefore, you must apply separately for summer aid.

Direct Plus Loans
- If you need to apply for additional loans to cover your summer bill, you must apply separately because it cannot be added to an academic year (fall/spring) loan.
- If enrolled at least half-time our recommended option is the Federal Direct PLUS loan which are for graduate students and parents of dependent undergraduate students.
- Graduate students and parents of dependent undergraduate students can apply for the Graduate PLUS loan and Parent PLUS loan, respectively, online at www.studentloans.gov.
Federal Direct loans
- Direct loans are available in the summer semester ONLY if you haven't used your annual maximum AND attend at least half-time.
- Government Regulations prohibit students from borrowing more than their grade level limit for one Academic Year.
