The Spiritans and Haiti Today: Challenges and Opportunities

Dr. Richard Gosser, Lay Spiritan, Executive Director of Partners in Progress, will speak about how the Spiritan presence in Haiti has been shaped by efforts in education, social ministries and seminary formation. Partners in Progress, an agency dedicated to sustainable development in Haiti, will be highlighted.

Fr. Elochukwu Uzukwu, C.S.Sp., Fr. Pierre Schouver Endowed Chair of Mission, will examine the impact of the Spiritan approach to mission on the development of languages and the proposal to support a language (like Swahili) for interethnic and international communication.

Fr. Daniel Walsh, C.S.Sp., pastor of St. Stephen's Parish in Hazelwood, will speak about the Spiritans' new commitment to the Hazelwood community and Spiritan life today.
