Financial Aid & Scholarships
The competitive tuition rate, generous scholarships and financial aid make the Law School surprisingly affordable and favorably comparable to other top private and public institutions.
Scholarships
The Law School has dedicated a considerable amount of scholarship support for highly credentialed first-year students. All accepted students are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships awarded by the School of Law.
Tuition awards are made each year to the most qualified applicants based on their records of achievement, aptitude for the study of law and general background. The scholarships are renewed annually, provided the student meets specified criteria. It is recommended that interested students submit their admission applications by early January.

Grants-in-Aid (Work-Study)
A number of Law School work-study grants-in-aid for partial tuition credit are available. Recipients of such grants-in-aid are required to adequately perform certain duties as a Law School library aide, Law School faculty research assistant or Law School administration aide for five to 10 hours per week during the entire academic year. In return, the student will receive a designated amount of tuition assistance that is directly applied to that student’s account.
Federally Funded and Institutional Aid
Financial assistance that is designated as federally funded or institutional aid is processed centrally through Duquesne University’s Financial Aid Office. This includes the Federal Perkins Loan, Stafford Loan, PLUS Loans, Law Access and Law Loans. The Law School itself does not process this aid.
