| Renowned composer, John Adams receives honorary doctorate from the Mary Pappert School of Music. Mark Koch, assistant chair of the guitar department and director of the Guitar & Bass Workshop, recently received an exclusive Artist/Educator endorsement from Benedetto Jazz Guitars. | Master's degree candidate, Rochelle Agnew, has won a position in the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater violin section. The Duquesne University Quadraphonic Saxophone Quartet has won the Pennsylvania Chamber Music Award in the Music Teachers National Association competition at Slippery Rock University. | Faculty member, Sean Jones, performs at the White House with Wynton and Branford Marsalis. Composition student, David Hidek, will have his piece, The Innermost Point, read by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at their annual Student Reading Session which will take place at Heinz Hall on February 20, 2010. |
