2012 Instrumental Jazz Workshop - June 18-22

This five day workshop is open to all instrumentalists, regardless of ability, from ages 13 to adult. Participants will rehearse in both large and small jazz ensemble situations and will perform concerts at the conclusion of the workshop. Also offered are individual instrument master classes, as well as clinics on jazz history, harmony, ear training, how to listen to jazz and solo transcription. The faculty performs in jazz session daily for the participants and selected students will be invited to perform with the faculty at the end of the week. Highlights include the Monday afternoon faculty concert, Friday afternoon pizza party and shopping at Volkwein’s jazz store.
