Primary Responsibilities:

Direct Grant Process
  • Compose grant requests including development of a detailed budget
  • Negotiate grant specifications
  • Plan, direct and monitor all components of the grant execution
  • Monitor, verify and reconcile all expenditures related to grant activities

Manage Educational Initiatives

  • Create timeline for program and publication development and fulfillment
  • Develop and edit clinical content for pharmacy continuing education programs (regional, mediated and national), scientific panels, advisory boards and publications.
  • Assess clinical content for accuracy, balance and objectivity
  • Manage faculty recruitment, evaluation and retention
  • Oversee outsourced meeting coordinator activities for scientific panels, advisory boards and national meetings (e.g. site search, invitation process, on-site event management)
  • Implement and maintain outcomes monitoring process
  • Direct the preparation and production of program resources including promotional and participant printed materials

Develop and Maintain Client Relationship

  • Establish and maintain day-to-day client communication
  • Report and/or present program outcomes according to established grant timeframes

Identify New Business Opportunities

  • Research drug pipeline and analyze latest evidence-based medicine for new educational opportunities
  • Develop and present comprehensive strategic opportunities for potential partners

Manage UPA Operations and Personnel

  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day internal operational activities
  • Provide direction and editorial support to clinical specialists
  • Educate, guide and monitor staff compliance with ACPE, ACCME, OIG and PhRMA guidelines (Compliance Officer)
  • Monitor performance of meeting coordinators based on individual grant requirements and adherence to company policies.
  • Maintain UPA website in terms of current company activities and accuracy of clinical content for mediated educational programs
