  • The Pennsylvania Project: Development of a MTM Statewide Preceptor Training Program:
    This is a DSF Grant Funded by the DSF Foundation to develop a standardized MTM program for all schools of pharmacy and pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania. This research project is collaborative project with all Pennsylvania Schools of Pharmacy and I currently represent Duquesne University School of Pharmacy on the content visioning panel

Community Pharmacy Clinical Practice Site:
Dr. Maher provides clinical pharmacy services in Community Pharmacy Practice for the patients and healthcare professional affiliates of two independently owned community pharmacies located in Western Pennsylvania ( Klingensmith’s Drugstores and Patton Pharmacy). At these locations Dr. Maher provides experiential education to 6th year Pharm.D. Candidates and works on research activities designed to help improved health outcomes for community pharmacy patients and advance practice of pharmacy ownership and clinical programs independent pharmacy.

Pharmacy Services Provided to Patton Pharmacy, Klingensmith’s Drugstores and affiliates include:

  • Drug Information support to Pharmacist Staff, healthcare professional affiliates and patients
  • Medication Therapy Management Services , Chronic Disease state management programs, Adherence Programs, and Medication Stimulus Reviews
  • Educational In-services for individuals, community organizations, and healthcare professionals
  • Health and Wellness Screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, osteoporosis and other common disease states.
