Research Program
The research focus of my group is within the field of Pharmaceutical Materials Science. Current projects seek to better understand specific physico-chemical and structural properties of pharmaceutically relevant materials and their impact on both large-scale manufacturing and final dosage form performance. Ongoing research is centered on mechanically activated solid state phase transformations of APIs and excipients, in which the potential for high-shear induction of polymorphism and amorphization is investigated. Key experimental techniques include powder X-ray diffractometry, thermal gravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, and organic small molecule crystal structure solution and analysis.
