Procedures
You may inquire about whether clinic services are available and appropriate for your concerns by calling or emailing the clinic. You may also suggest topics for support groups. Your inquiries will be addressed confidentially by the Assistant to the Director, Linda, who also will provide driving and parking directions, bus schedules and maps.
At a first visit, the prospective client meets with a clinician to ask questions and to discuss his or her situation, background and goals. Usually the intake interviewer becomes the therapist. This intake meeting lasts one to two hours. On the same day and/or later in the week two psychological tests are taken. The interviewer collaboratively discusses with the person possible implications of resulting patterns for that person's concerns.
Prospective clients may pick up at the clinic office, receive by mail, or down load our intake background form, and bring it with them for their first meeting. Once at the clinic, prospective clients also are asked to complete a brief checklist.
