Clery Report
In compliance with the requirements from the Pennsylvania College and University Information Act and the Clery Campus Crime Statistics Act, Duquesne University’s Annual Security Report is available to all students and employees. This report (on right) is included in the Safety First: Annual Security Report and Safety Practices magazine and contains three years of crime statistics on campus and on areas adjacent to campus.
Personnel
Police Officers must successfully complete 751 hours of initial training at an approved Police Academy. The training curriculum is as mandated by the Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission, and includes such topics as criminal law and procedures, patrol and investigation practices and techniques, firearms, human values and problems, first aid, and physical training. An array of in-service training programs are presented to update and enhance the professional skills of the Officers.
University Police Officers are vested with all the powers, authority and responsibilities of any Police Officer of the Commonwealth on property owned or operated by the University, including immediate adjacent public streets and property.
