DR. LAURENT DUBOIS PRESENTS "POGBACITÉ: AFRICA AND FRANCE IN THE 2018 WORLD CUP"

Sponsored by the Center for African Studies and Department of History, we held this event n October 17th, 2018 at Duquesne Union. Dubois is the Faculty Director for the forum for Scholars and Publics at Duke University and author of the "Language of the Game: How to understand Soccer (2018)". He specializes in the history and culture of the Atlantic World, with a focus on the Caribbean and particularly, Haiti. 

Teach Africa Summit

We held a Teach Africa Summit on November 14, 2018 at Duquesne University to create awareness among students about the critical issues on topics such as U.S. - Africa relations, trade, investment, Africa media perceptions, global health and peace and governance, encourage students to participate in interactive workshops with leading experts, develop leadership qualities and a sense of global consciousness, engage in a live satellite exchange with students from Kenya, and enjoy an authentic African cultural experience
