TAP No. 37: Soliciting, Petitioning, Distribution of Literature, Demonstrations and Picketing

 

Scope

This policy applies to students, faculty, staff and visitors on Duquesne University’s property.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to preserve and protect the University’s mission, private property and operational interests, including in maintaining a safe learning, living and working environment.  

I.             Prohibited Activities

Individuals or groups, who are not employees or students at Duquesne University are prohibited from soliciting, petitioning, distributing literature, picketing, demonstrating, or engaging in similar or related activities on University property to the maximum extent permitted by law. University property includes, but is not limited to, campus streets and sidewalks owned or maintained by the University. Students and employees are subject to applicable University policies, procedures and parameters, including, but not limited to, TAP No. 65: Facilities Use and the related information referenced therein.
