The faculty and staff of Mary Pappert School of Music are at the heart of what makes our school such a special place for our students.

Last year, we saw the retirements of several long-standing members of our community, and we have worked hard to find individuals who will continue their work and build upon the foundations they leave behind to make our school an even better place. We are proud to welcome these new faculty and staff members this fall.

Dr. Ethan Murphy joins the Music Education department as Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education. In addition to his role teaching choral music education curriculum, he will also be the conductor for the Pappert Chorale.

Robert Traugh, who has been the Program Director for the Composition for Media track of our Music Technology degree since the Fall 2020 semester, will step into a full-time position as Assistant Professor of Composition for Media.

On the staff front, Lindsay Lehman joined us in June and has seamlessly stepped into her role as Director of Music Facilities and Operations.

In addition, we also welcome several adjunct faculty and part-time staff:

  • Ramin Akhavijou, Adjunct Professor of Musicianship
  • Natalia Alvarez-Figueroa, Adjunct Professor of Music Therapy
  • Ben Cacioppo, Ensembles Assistant
  • Kathryn Eberle Cotter, Adjunct Professor of Music Therapy
  • Garrett Law, Adjunct Professor of Horn
  • Perry Roth, Adjunct Professor of Saxophone
  • Lynn Speakman, Adjunct Professor of Jazz Saxophone
  • Neil Stahurski, Adjunct Professor of Organ
  • Ivana Ugrcic, Adjunct Professor of Music
  • Emerson Voss, Adjunct Professor of Musicianship
  • Walter Young, Adjunct Professor of Music
  • Paige Zalman, Adjunct Professor of Musicianship

Please join me in welcoming everyone to our community as we begin the 2025–2026 academic year!
