Biography

Becky Schoen, PharmD, BCACP is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the School of Pharmacy. Dr. Schoen earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Purdue University. She completed a PGY1 and PGY2 residency focused in Ambulatory Care at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. After completing residency training, Dr. Schoen was a faculty member at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Dallas, TX where she maintained a practice site at the North Texas Veterans Affairs Hospital with prescriptive authority under a scope of practice. During this time, she served as the Director of Practice Labs and Simulation for the Dallas campus from 2018-2020. Since joining Duquesne in 2020, Dr. Schoen currently practices within the Allegheny Health Network as an embedded clinical pharmacist in primary care. She manages chronic disease states as a member of an interprofessional team under a collaborative practice agreement and precepts fourth year professional students at the site. Dr. Schoen teaches in the Pharmacy Practice course series including several direct patient care skills and innovation in the pharmacy profession such as incorporation of digital health, developing new pharmacy services, and practicing within a value based care system. Dr. Schoen is board certified in Ambulatory Care and is an active member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
