Biography

Dr. Steve Hansen became the director for the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) in 2019.  Before serving as the director, he was the associate director for faculty development, 2008-2019.

Among his responsibilities at the Center for Teaching Excellence, he oversees instructional and professional development for faculty and graduate students University wide.  Steve regularly consults with faculty on teaching and academic career success, and with department chairs and program directors on academic leadership.  He also directs the creative teaching award and assists faculty in the design and development of SOTL (scholarship of teaching and learning) projects and publications.

Steve lives in Verona, Pa., with his family.  He enjoys staying busy outdoors doing gardening, hiking, biking, camping and cross-country skiing.
