Responsible Employee Refresher

At Duquesne, all employees are Responsible Employees. All employees are welcome to join the Title IX Coordinator for a refresher on what it means to be a Responsible Employee. This Refresher will cover all aspects of Responsible Employee reporting, including what to report, how to report, and how to explain your role to the reporting individual. This event is open to all employees.

SAAM Day of Action - Teal Tuesday!

Show your support for awareness and prevention of sexual violence by wearing teal today! By wearing teal, you're signaling that you support survivors, and are a safe person to talk to if they need to reach out. Don't forget to stop by the Title IX table to pick up your teal "swag."

Women's Lacrosse 5th Annual Teal Game

Sunday, April 10th | 2pm | Rooney Field

Come cheer on the women's lacrosse team against La Salle! The team will wear their "It's On Us" t-shirts during the pre-game warm-up to draw attention to sexual violence and to support survivors of sexual assault. In coordination with the Teal Game, student athletes and peers will be encouraged to take the It's On Us Pledge. Donations for the Comfort Clothing Drive will be accepted at the game.

Coffee, Coloring, and Consent

Restorative Yoga

Yoga can be utilized as a healing tool for all. Join Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR) and Students Against Sexual Violence (SASV) for outdoor restorative yoga to help combat end of semester stress. The yoga experience will focus on gentle movements, body awareness, and listening to our needs.

Healthy Relationships and Communication Workshop

Tuesday, April 19th | 7pm - 8pm | Location: 105 College Hall

Join the Title IX Coordinator and staff from Counseling Services for a relaxed, interactive discussion about healthy relationships and supporting peers who might be experiencing abuse within a relationship. Topics covered will be: understanding the components of healthy relationships, healthy communication strategies, learning to spot "red flags" or abusive behaviors in a relationship, recognizing how to support friends experiencing unhealthy behaviors in a relationship, and identifying campus and community resources.

Supportive Survivors of Sexual Violence: Employee Webinar

To celebrate and draw deserved attention to Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR) will provide a training on how to better support survivors of sexual violence on your campus and in your classrooms. The training will discuss the effects of trauma, how to respond to disclosures of sexual violence, how to provide ongoing support and campus specific resources. This event is open to all employees.

Tie-Dye Your Teal

Let's Talk About It: A Conversation about Barriers to Reporting Sexual Misconduct

More than 90% of sexual assaults on college campuses go unreported. Join Dr. Anthony Kane, Director of Diversity and Inclusion and the Title IX Coordinator for a student-driven, constructive conversation focused on identifying the barriers of reporting sexual assault and ideas for reducing or eliminating those obstacles.
