The Duquesne University Women’s Law Association in cooperation with the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University is now accepting nominations for the Woman of the Year Award and for the Recent Graduate of the Year Award.
The Woman of the Year Award is given annually to a female alumna who has demonstrated leadership, integrity, service, sacrifice, and a commitment to actively seeking change and expanding opportunities for women within the profession. In addition, the nominees should be committed to encouraging women to pursue legal careers, opening doors that historically have been closed to women lawyers, and have earned the respect of colleagues by exemplifying the highest ideals of the legal profession. Last year’s honor was awarded to Justice Christine Donohue, L’80.
The Recent Graduate of the Year Award is given annually to a female alumna, who has graduated within the last five years, to reward outstanding achievement and potential among new legal professionals. The nominees demonstrate a consistently high level of professional and ethical service to clients and communities, possess strong leadership qualities, and commit to maintaining connections well into the future. Brazitte Poole, L’19 was honored as the 2023 Recent Graduate of the Year.
Both awards will be presented at an annual celebration of women’s advancement and achievements in March 2024 (date and time TBD).
