Develop and Explore Research Methods and their Practical Implications

The Center for Interpretive & Qualitative Research (CIQR) brings together a diverse group of faculty and graduate students interested in qualitative and interpretive methodology. Students and faculty in departments such as psychology, sociology, and even departments outside of the liberal arts such as nursing, health sciences, and education engage in research methods developed through CIQR.

Some activities done through the center include:

  • Monthly seminars and panels presented by Duquesne faculty
  • Interdisciplinary and cross-listed graduate courses
  • Lectures and workshops offered by visiting scholars
  • Scholars in residence
  • Community action research and outreach
