Percussion Area Coordinator Eliseo Rael won an Emmy Award at the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Pacific Southwest Award Ceremony for his percussion quartet's recording of Spiral.

Earlier this year, Rael's quartet "Pana Percussion" released Spiral, a dynamic and exciting piece composed by group member Alex Stopa that pushes the boundaries of traditional percussion music. The recording, which was made in Las Vegas last spring, showcases his unique and innovative approach to percussion performance and quickly went up for Emmy consideration, recognizing the high level of artistry and technical expertise that went into its creation.

Rael was sure to thank all those who made this possible, including the other members of Pana Percussion—Alex Stopa, Ryun Louie, and Jeff Crowell. He said, "Not only are they great musicians but they also made the experience of recording this piece so much fun. If you ever get an opportunity to work with these guys, definitely do it. You won't be sorry."

The Award Ceremony was held in Palm Springs on Saturday, June 17.
