Interactive Online Orientation Experience
All Duquesne students have access to Essentials in Online Learning at Duquesne, an informative orientation experience designed to help prepare students to be effective online learners. Interactive modules are provided on the following topics:
- Duquesne Resources (an introduction to the key services and many support resources available to you as an online student)
- Orientation to Canvas (an introduction to Duquesne's online course environment where you can practice navigating a course and experience the tools used in most online courses)
- Online Learning Skills (Tips and strategies you can use to be a successful online student)

Students are encouraged to meet with their student success coach or academic advisor before courses begin. The academic program you choose may feature additional orientation and support resources to help you get started.
Current Students
If you are a Duquesne student ready to begin Essentials in Online Learning, log in to the Duquesne Portal and select the Canvas tile. Next, choose how you'd like to access Canvas, either from Duquesne's Canvas website or from the mobile app. Then, from your dashboard, you will see all of your courses. Select Essentials in Online Learning to get started!
